Good question, Rhonda.

I’ve got a theory that Teachers waste an enormous amount of time, blood, sweat, tears and effort in their work if they fail to match their pedagogy to their purpose.

This was highlighted again for me recently in a discussion with a colleague and friend called Rhonda who asked me “Why doesn’t anybody talk to teachers about the difference between teaching knowledge, skills and values?”  Good question that.

I thought about it a lot and reckoned that I might share my thoughts with you.

Here’s the rub.  All of our good intentions, and indeed all of our curriculum frameworks, might just add up to naught if we don’t start effectively selecting pedagogies that enact our purpose.

The age of treating almost every teaching imperative as a knowledge imperative is, therefore, over.
